the Foe

Laji Note: The nature of the Foe is apparently extremely secretive and little is recorded about him/it. “The Foe” by Sir Phillip Fulke tells us the following: The Foe posed a major threat to Karsis back in the end of the 600s. He had a penchant for undead, but used other ‘nefarious creatures’ too. This threat was discovered by a bard named Jack, who promptly went mad. He was eventually defeated by a coalition of the wizards and clerics of Karsis, the actual confrontation itself being headed by Cedric. Cedric died soon thereafter (the book notes he was greatly drained after his battle with the Foe). The wizards and clerics destroyed and sanctified everything they could that belonged to the Foe, but the Staff of Regulus remained. No hint is given to the exact location of the Foe’s stronghold or to who Regulus is/was. The 100th anniversary of the Foe’s defeat seems to be upon us. The Foe was discovered in 697 and defeated in 699. Cedric died in 700.
